The greatest club!

I’m starting this week’s email off with our logo as I think it’s important we focus on the club as a whole and remember just how great we are as a group of members and staff, the great times we have had in the past and that we will have in the future.

I stated when I interviewed for the position as Head Professional, that this is the only club I would ever want to take this role with, as Ringway is my home, my family and for me is the greatest club.

It’s been a difficult year for the club but we will re-build and become stronger and get back to having great times and making great memories.

I hope you are all with me and we can start to plan the good times.

• Soil and the ground wear out the face of a wedge quicker than sand!
  
  
• The friction between the face (not the grooves) and the ball determines how high your ball launches and therefore how far it flies.
  
  
• On the PGA Tour 50% of their wedge shots are played out of the rough and Dustin Johnson’s Pitching proximity to the hole hasn’t improved it’s just that he only plays 40% of his shots from the rough.
  
  
• So to pitch it better make sure you are on the fairway with a urethane covered ball and newish wedge otherwise it’s impossible to be consistent no matter how good your technique is!
