How can we optimise our website... Last week Richie and I went on a training course for website optimisation and social media run by Adtrak in conjunction with England Golf. There was a lot of information to take on board and some great action plans that can be put in place as a result of it. Some key points were the time frame we have to capture someone’s interest which is around 5 seconds, the same time frame we take to decide if we like someone when meeting them. On average, 40% of people will leave a site if the page hasn’t loaded within 3 seconds and then only 25% of people will actually reach the bottom of a page, so all key information has to sit at the top of the page. Another area to drive is greenfee’s review on google as they actually are held in high regards to a recommendation. Reviews will also allow us to sit higher on the list of clubs when people are searching for where to play. This leads into some interesting numbers, where there are 34,950 golf club related searches each month, with 18,100 of ‘golf courses near me’ being the top search. We have taken ownership of our google business page now and it would be great if we could take some time to leave a review for the club and course. We can do this by putting Ringway in google search and then you can see myself there listed along with Ringway Golf Club. If you click on it the next page will have an option to leave a review. Feel free to do the same for my coaching as well! |
