Rahm roars in the Bahamas

The chances of securing victory in an 18-man event are considerably better than any other week on the PGA Tour, granted. But when you consider all the competitors were inside the World’s top 30 and that the Hero World Challenge has the euphoria of being hosted by a certain Tiger Woods, this is anything but a ‘mickey-mouse’ tournament.

Heading into Sunday’s final round, Jon Rahm shared the overnight lead with big-hitting duo Tony Finau and Henrik Stenson. Following a tense opening battle between Rahm and Finau, the Spaniard pulled away as he found 12 of his last 13 greens during a highly impressive display of ball striking. The end result? A final-round 65 (-7) and a four-shot victory; his third individual title of 2018.

Finau denies Rose

Although Finau's tournament didn't end as he had hoped when we woke up Sunday morning, his birdie down the 72nd hole was enough to earn him outright second place, ahead of Justin Rose in third. The Englishman needed to finish T2 or better to return to the summit of the World Rankings but must now wait at least one more week to topple Brooks Koepka.

How many greens?

If you had to describe your iron play in one word, what would it be? Pin-seeker? Average? Inconsistent? Regardless of how your irons were this year, 2019 brings about a new season so there's no better time to start working on your game - there's always room for improvement.

One way to do this is by getting custom fitted for Titleist's AP1 and AP3 irons.

These clubs boast some outstanding technology to help you make more greens in regulation. The AP1 is Titleist's Ultimate Game Improvement iron, offering a higher launch and great forgiveness so every shot you hit is closer to your target. Find your range

As the days keep on getting shorter, it becomes progressively more difficult to find the time for a full round of golf. If you've only got an hour or so to spare, head down to the range to work on the areas of your game that are causing you problems; just make sure your practice is effective.

Target practice is one of the easiest and most effective ways to practice. Pick a target on the range and visualize a scoring area about 10 yards wide around it. Then, take your wedge and try to land the ball within this scoring zone.

If you're successful, take your 9-iron and continue on through the bag; if not, keep on trying to land the ball within the area before moving on. This drill will improve your accuracy and focus whilst you grind through the winter months.
