Hat-trick hero Rahm

Spaniard Jon Rahm declared his love for the Irish after becoming the first man to claim three Rolex Series titles in 2019 with a scintillating two-shot victory at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open:

"I love this country, I love the people and feel like I'm at home every time I come”

Those feelings were evident on Sunday as Rahm fired an eagle and eight birdies in his final round 62 to leave England’s Andy Sullivan and Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger tied second on 14-under-par. The win was Rahm’s second success at the Irish Open having won in 2017 at Portstewart and sees the 24-year-old move back into the world’s top 10 as a result. Someone get that man a Guinness.

Wolff has plenty of bite

We'll forgive you for not knowing who Matthew Wolff is but 2019 is proving to be some year for the 20-year-old American. Turning up at Twin Cities for the inaugural 3M Open, few would have expected much from a player with one of the quirkiest swings in golf - click here to view - who was making just his fourth PGA Tour start.

However, Wolff stunned the crowd by closing out with a remarkable 26-foot putt for eagle at the 18th to win by one from Bryson Dechambeau and Collin Morikawa. The win gives Wolff his PGA Tour card until 2021 and books him a slot at next year’s Masters.

Hands up...

...if the only time you 'practice' your wedge play is when you hit a few shots at the start of your warm-up routine? Sadly, this isn't going to lead to a dialled in wedge game, which is one of the fastest ways to see your scores come tumbling down.

1. Correctly gapped wedge system - What we mean by this is having an equal gap between each club in your bag, so you're never left trying to 'manufacture' a shot on the golf course (this is where large numbers start).
