Set yourself some goals!
Saturday’s winter pairs Greensomes was called off this week due to storm Dennis, not long after storm Ciara. But the way I see it, conditions can only get better! There are only around six weeks until the start of the golfing season, which means handicap qualifying competitions are upon us. So it’s time to get practicing... If your aim this year is to decrease your handicap or even to just maintain the one that you currently have, then I would recommend a couple of things that you could try to help you reach your goals in 2020: - Get yourself some golf lessons. A series of lessons, in particular, can improve your swing and consistency exponentially. Maybe give it a try?
- Try out a custom fitting. Everyone who has done it will tell you that the difference is remarkable and that once you've done it you'll never be able to go back. From what I’ve heard, it really helps with consistency as the clubs are most suited to you and your swing. I will be getting my clubs custom fitted for the first time at some point in the next year and I cannot wait to see the changes for myself!
You can get in contact with us about your goals by clicking here. In other news, Adam Scott shot a 1-under final round to win the Genesis Invitational PGA Tour event by two shots last week. But my highlight was on Sunday when Harold Varner III topped his tee shot on the 10th hole, leading to a double-bogey 6 taking him out of contention. It just goes to show that even the top-level tour pros find this game impossible at times, and they make mistakes too. The key is to never give up. I will see a fair few of you in the shop this week and although we have a rainy week ahead of us, the storms should be behind us. This Saturday, 22 February we have a 4-man team competition - Best 2 from 4 Scores. This is one of my favourite team formats so fingers crossed the weather isn’t too bad this weekend! If you have any questions regarding course, competitions or products in-store, then just visit the pro shop or phone up and I will be happy to help. See you soon! |
