Joey is here with a breakdown of the last weeks competition's and great deals to be had in the shop.

Op36 had it's third challange match, with some great scores, Milly Tighe and Dan Barlow both shooting 36 fpr 9 holes from 200 yards!  Do you think you could do that?  What distance do you think you could play from and achieve a score of 36 or better?

Then as always we have some great insight with Wrigger's Rules.

Competition news

I hope you all had a good week last week. It was certainly an interesting one! All of the competitions went ahead uninterrupted, despite the constant threat of thunderstorms in the forecast! Here is a list of all the results:


Ladies Jubilee (HTQ 4/8):

Division One Results:    

1st - Bronte Ward - 69 nett 

2nd - Rebecca Quealy - 73 nett

3rd - Patricia Gallagher - 74 nett

Division Two Results: 

1st - Tracy Burns - 72 nett

2nd - Sarah Lalley-Jones - 72 nett 

3rd - Judith Wainwright - 73 nett

If you carded a 2 in the Ladies Jubilee (HTQ 4/8), then you will have £5 (per two scored) credited to your pro shop account. There were a total of 8 twos in this competition.

 

Friday Kendy Trophy (8):

1st - Karen Harrison - 41 pts 

2nd - Ben Greenhalgh - 41 pts 

3rd - Cole Self - 40 pts

If you carded a 2 in the Friday Kendy Trophy (8), then you will have £10 (per two scored) credited to your pro shop account. There were a total of 6 twos in this competition.

 

Men’s Pritchard Bowl:

3rd - Tom Mantel - 68 Nett

If you carded a 2 in the Victory Trophy, then you will have £5.79 (per two scored) credited to your pro shop account. There were a total of 34 twos in this competition!

Wriggers' Rules

What to do when a golf ball moves at address

This week we look at the ruling when a ball that had previously come to rest begins to move again when a player addresses the ball, which is particularly useful to know in windy conditions!

We will look at examples from the fairway and green, including when a ball has previously been marked on the putting surface.

Golf on Tour

It's about to get interesting

The Northern Trust begins this week, marking the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs on the PGA Tour. The event, held at TPC Boston, will be followed by the BMW Championship before culminating in Atlanta at The Tour Championship. It’s a hell of a payday for the winner ($15 million), as well as a lot of prestige; joining a list of golf’s modern greats.

Justin Thomas has already wrapped-up the $2 million Wyndham Rewards prize for the best regular-season player, with PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa finishing second. Thomas will be hoping to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only players to win the FedEx Cup multiple times (both have won it twice), but it won’t be easy.

It's great to see

Golf is going through a great period at the moment with lots of people taking the chance to play. One thing you'll notice is the number of golfers using an electric trolley to carry their clubs around the course, so we thought we'd highlight a couple of our favourites in this week's email.
